Did you know, you do not always need to see a doctor. At Horsefair Surgery we offer appointments with a range of clinicians has a mixture of full-time and part-time clinicians, who are not necessarily available every day.

Doctors - appointments are available to book up to 4 weeks in advance.  These pre-bookable appointments are for routine follow up, complex conditions and on-going consultations.  Pre-bookable appointments can be booked at the surgery (face to face or telephone) or online through Patient Access (you will need to be registered for online patient services to take advantage of this service. Please speak to reception). There are some appointments available every day for urgent medical problems that cannot wait until the next routine appointment. If you wish to see a specific doctor, we will try to accommodate your request however, as the Doctors do not work every day this may not always be possible. We will offer you an appointment with another doctor,

Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP's) is a registered nurse who has acquired the expert knowledge base, complex decision-making skills and clinical competencies for expanded practice. They can prescribe for and diagnose acute medical problems; for example, infections, pain & swelling, insect bites, rashes, coughs/colds etc.                                                    Appointments, from 8.30am until 6.00pm are available to book on the day, Monday to Friday.  Some appointments are available to book in advance if the ANP you see has asked to see you again.

Practice Nurses -  appointments with our Practice Nurses are all pre-bookable.  Our Nurses see patients for chronic conditions review, such as diabetes and asthma, leg ulcers, dressings, stitch removal, immunisations - childhood and adult. We have regular baby clinics, and sexual health clinics.  If you require an appointment for an immunisation or stitch removal, for example, please call as far in advance as you can so that we can give you an appointment at the appropriate time.  Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee to offer you an appointment if you leave making that appointment until a couple of days before or on the same day that you need stitches removed or the immunisation.

Phlebotomists - if you need regular blood test or have seen one of our doctors or ANP's and been advised to have a blood test, Jill and Saiqa are here every day and offer appointments between 8.00am and 2.30pm, Monday to Friday.  Please book your appointment as soon as possible.
